— About Ca'Buccari
Ca'Buccari is a new cultural initiative and independent nonprofit organization based in Venice, Italy.
Equally, an exhibition and project space, residency, studio, kitchen, and screening room, Ca'Buccari occupies five former storage units and storefronts, connected by an arched arcade to the public park of the Pineta di Santa Elena, the Grand Canal, and the lagoon.
Situated near the Giardini della Biennale, Ca'Buccari is adjacent to the Pierluigi Penzo Stadium, the historic Sant'Elena Church and monastery, and the Scuola Navale Militare Francesco Morosini – on the eastern tip of Venice.
Through discursive and collaborative programming and collaborations, Ca'Buccari will use its spaces to advance creative and critical practices and discourse – focusing on and working with the city's social, cultural, and spatial context, and the Sant'Elena quarter where the space is situated.
Ca'Buccari will develop and host public events, exhibitions, workshops, and research residencies—for and with artists, architects, curators, publishers, critics, activists, thinkers, researchers, and cultural practitioners from all backgrounds, interested in thinking with and through, and by the example of Venice.
In 2022-24, the space underwent a complete renovation and re-opened its doors in spring 2024.
