— Open Call
Ca’Buccari invites artists, architects, designers, curators, and researchers from all cultural backgrounds and interests to apply for two one-month residencies in our spaces in Venice.

Applicants can select between two residency periods:
July 4 – August 4, or August 10 – September 7.

While we encourage a wide range of proposals, particular attention will be given to projects that connect or depart from the contemporary Venetian cultural, environmental, and socio-spatial context.

The residency should result in a tangible document and/or public presentation, workshop, or project proposal for possible future realization at Ca’Buccari.

We strongly advise people from all cultural backgrounds and interests to apply!

The only condition for this residency is a sincere interest in a contemporary cultural understanding of Venice's social and spatial realities and potential.

This results in a tangible document and public presentation, a workshop, or project proposal for potential future realization at Ca'Buccari.

— Residency Space
The residency space consists of three interconnected spaces, a large, well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a large studio space, and a bedroom with a double bed—with a total of 90sqm. Residency Space PDF

All spaces open up to a large arched arcade connected to a public park bordering the lagoon. The area is a quiet and residential area on the Southeast end of Venice, close to the Lido beaches and a 5-minute walk from the Giardini di Biennale.
— Participation
Participation in the residency is free of charge. Applicants must cover their own travel and living expenses. A small production budget may be available upon previous agreement in case of the organization of public events or installations.

The residency space allows one or two people to live and work comfortably; it is not suited for more than two people at a time.
